Wertzbaugher Services designs, builds, fabricates, and paints metal racks. We can fabricate racks for storage of various materials and components, for transport of goods from one plant to another, and for moving product through a plant.
Wertzbaugher Services works on projects of all sizes. We are an Iowa-based fabricator conveniently located on Highway 6 outside of Iowa City, IA. Wertzbaugher Services specializes in metal arc welding and fabrication. We build returnable shipping racks and racking systems from various materials including:

Customized Metal Racks
Custom metal racks are utilized to move product through manufacturing facilities. We work off PDF prints and engineering files such as IGES and DXF to build metal racks to customer specifications. We also partner with manufacturing engineers in the design phase to create custom steel racks for manufacturing spaces.
We build prototypes and consult with engineers to modify rack design in the early stages of the project. Across the United States, our customers rely on us for high quality racking solutions. Returnable steel shipping racks offer a heavy duty material handling solution that saves time and space.
Wertzbaugher Services supplies the glass manufacturing industry with a variety of custom metal racks for transporting glass sheets. Our glass racks incorporate materials like wood, neoprene, and specialty plastics to prevent damage of goods in transit.
We specialize in L-Buck and A-frame glass racks. Both of these styles incorporate padding to protect the glass sheets and fork pockets for easy transport throughout the plant. We powder coat and provide stenciling options for easy identification of the racks through a glass manufacturing facility.
Returnable steel shipping racks are used in a variety of industries to transport good from plant to plant. Returnable steel racks are cost effective and higher quality than traditional wood crates and pallets. Steel shipping racks are durable and incorporate features like fork pockets for easy transport and stacking caps for maximizing storage space.
Wertzbaugher Services fabricates steel racks to customer prints and specifications. We can also work off pictures and dimensions to recreate an existing rack from scratch. Our engineering team utilizes design software to open models and create prints for the quoting and fabrication process.
